Photographing a Bar Mitzvah at the Kotel
It is not something I do quite often As the Bar Mitzvah usually takes place at the men side And as a woman photographer I am obliged to stay at the women side, behind the partition.
However, I do explain in our initial conversation that despite the fact I will stay at the women side I own the most advanced photography equipment including some great zoom lenses I can photograph the whole ceremony from the women's side And there is even an advantage in it My view point in broader I can capture the whole picture as well as the little details within.
In June 2023 I had the pleasure to accompany the Shmuel family who arrived to Israel for their simcha to celebrate Noah's Bar Mitzvah at the Western Wall.
I met them at the Dung Gate, from there we had a happy procession of drummers, a chuppa, shofars and lots of dancing and balloons.
When we arrived the the Western Wall, I found a great spot over the partition
My view angle was perfect
